Here’s something that a lot of people overlook: space for future expansion. As your business grows or your power requirements change, you might need to add more modules or upgrade your switchgear. So, it’s a good idea to leave some extra space around the switchgear when you’re installing it.
You could plan for an additional 20% to 30% of the original installation space for future expansion. This gives you some wiggle room to make changes without having to completely re – do the installation.
Consider the Environment
The environment where you’re installing the LV switchgear also affects the space requirements. If the area is prone to dust, dirt, or moisture, you might need to have a larger enclosure and more clearance to ensure proper protection.
In a dusty environment, for example, you might want to have a sealed enclosure with proper air filtration. This enclosure will take up more space than a standard one. And if the area is prone to flooding or high humidity, you might need to install the switchgear on a raised platform, which adds to the overall height and the space it occupies.
